Just as the Internet revolution was just beginning in the 1990s, the Metaverse revolution is taking hold in the 2020s. Remember the gold rush of the dot-com era. A similar gold rush is taking hold in the wild wild West of the Metaverse. I review this gold rush in this article, and share all the Metaverse links, news, and resources below.

Companies including Decentraland, Sandbox, Meta, Apple, Google, TikTok, Epic Games (Fortnite), Nvidia, Microsoft, and Roblox have announced plans to build metaverse worlds. There are probably countless startups competing in this space, but we have not heard their names yet. The competition is fierce — metaverse is the new gold rush and everyone wants their own slice.

By 2030, most of us will be working, playing, learning, and interacting via our avatars in the Metaverse. We will experience a customized and enhanced reality powered by artificial intelligence, biometrics, emotion recognition, and personal data.
